DinnerPlanR Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 15, 2026
DinnerPlanR is a family meal planning app from StellarMatrix. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may collect, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Summary
DinnerPlanR is designed to be local-first. You can use the core app without creating an account. If you choose to create an account or use cloud backup/sync, some app data may be stored securely with our backend provider so you can restore it later.
Information you provide
- Meal preferences: selected meal categories, sub-meals, custom meals, tradition days, blocked meals, ratings, and meal plans.
- Family planning settings: household size range, week style, budget feel, and preferred cookout days.
- ZIP code: used to provide weather-based cookout suggestions when weather features are enabled.
- Account information: if you create an account, we may process your email address and authentication session through our authentication provider.
Information collected automatically
The app may store basic app state locally on your device, such as your current plan, grocery checklist state, onboarding completion, and preferences. Future versions may use limited diagnostics or crash reporting to help fix bugs, but DinnerPlanR does not need invasive tracking to function.
How we use information
- Generate meal plans based on your selected foods and traditions.
- Create grocery lists from your current meal plan.
- Reduce repeat meals over time.
- Suggest cookout-friendly meals based on your preferred cookout days and local weather.
- Provide optional account backup and sync across devices.
- Maintain, debug, and improve the app.
Weather data
If you enter a ZIP code, DinnerPlanR may use it to request forecast information from a weather provider, currently OpenWeather. The app uses forecast details such as temperature and weather conditions to suggest cookout-friendly meal options.
Accounts and cloud sync
Account creation is optional. If you sign in, DinnerPlanR may sync durable app data such as your family profile, custom meals, plans, and grocery checklist state to our backend provider, currently Supabase. We do not intentionally sync every temporary spin, tap, or draft action.
Subscriptions and purchases
DinnerPlanR may offer premium features in the future. Mobile subscriptions and in-app purchases are expected to be handled by Apple, Google Play, and/or RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details from those providers.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the app, such as authentication, cloud database, weather, app store billing, and hosting providers. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Children’s privacy
DinnerPlanR is intended for parents, guardians, and household meal planners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. Cloud data associated with an account may remain until you delete it, request deletion, or the account is removed according to our operational needs and legal obligations.
Your choices
- You can use DinnerPlanR without creating an account.
- You can change or remove your ZIP code in the app’s Account settings.
- You can edit or delete custom meals and meal preferences in the app.
- You can contact us to request account or cloud data deletion.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect app data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as DinnerPlanR evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this website.
